RACINE — Three events this week aim to raise awareness about mental illness.

The events are hosted by the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Racine County and are part of Mental Illness Awareness Week.

Mental Illness Awareness Week started in 1990 and takes place during the first full week of October.

Go Green Monday aims to raise public awareness about mental illness. Participants from NAMI Racine County and Racine Friendship Clubhouse will display signs and provide information about mental illness Oct. 2 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the corner of Washington Avenue and Ohio Street.
