Deaths caused by suicide in Racine County increased in 2022

RACINE COUNTY — Deaths caused by suicide rose in Racine County from 2021 to 2022, reflecting a trend happening in communities across the country.

Suicide rates reached a record high nationwide in 2022, increasing by about 2.6% from 2021, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

In Racine County, deaths caused by suicide increased from 25 in 2021 to 30 in 2022, according to the Racine County Medical Examiner’s Office.
