CURRENT NEEDS

CURRENT NEEDS

  • Outreach Volunteer — Someone who will be available typically outside standard business hours to go to community events, share information about NAMI Racine County, and promote upcoming programs. Sheri sets up a bag that you can take with you. She also offers an quick 30-minute training to help build your confidence at these events.

  • Family CARES Facilitator — Lead a monthly hybrid support group with current facilitator, Scott Kinderman. You'd need to commit to completing a 16-hour weekend training sometime within the next 12 months and would be able to start leading the group right away. You must be a family member and available on the 4th Thursday of every month from 6:00 - 7:30 pm.

  • Monthly Newsletter coordination and design -- Looking for a person who loves marketing who can spend approximately 4-5 hours per month (in the last week of the month) connecting with staff, curating content, and creating our monthly email newsletters. Bridget can provide training.

  • Wellness Wednesday Volunteers — a one or more kind of commitment on (typically) the third Wednesday of the month. We want two NAMI Racine County reps at each program who will keep doors open, welcome people, coordinate paperwork, and support the person presenting.

  • NAMI Family-to-Family presenter — work with another volunteer to implement the NAMI Signature program "NAMI Family-to-Family" — an 8 week education program for anyone who lives with or loves someone with mental illness. It's truly one of those life changing experiences and many of our long-time volunteers and donors started because of this class. Takes place every week for 8 weeks, 2.5 hours each. Training required through NAMI Wisconsin.

  • NAMI Hearts + Minds presenter — a new program demonstrating the importance of connecting the mind and body to support someone's overall understanding of mental wellness. This program can be implemented in a one-day workshop, or over the course of multiple weeks. Training required through NAMI Wisconsin. Next training is in November 2025.

  • NAMI Ending the Silence presenter — for those committed to youth mental health, NAMI Ending the Silence presenters share their personal lived experience with middle and high school aged students for 50-minute presentations in schools and community organizations.
