2018 Annual Meeting and Research Dinner
One of NAMI Racine County's strategic priorities is to identify mental health needs of middle and high school students. Approximately 1 in 5 youth aged 13-18 (21.4%) experiences a severe mental disorder at some point during their life. For children aged 8-15, the estimate is 13%. NAMI Racine County has been working towards educating the community on mental health diagnoses, and the signs and symptoms, to promote early intervention for students and their families. Through educational programs and community outreach, we continue to work with diverse populations in reducing stigma and promoting recovery is possible.
Join us at our Annual Meeting and Research Dinner on May 31, 2018 to learn more about the state of youth mental health, our trainings, and other educational measures NAMI Racine County is taking to help change lives in our community. Ryan Stachoviak, Mental Health Planner from the Department of Health Services in Madison, will be discussing the State's efforts in implementing Early Intervention for First Episode Psychosis Programs.
